Quarter past seven in October. The brisk westerly wind drives warm and humid air over the Müritz, the “little sea”.
Today could be another late summer day. The vastness of the Müritz invites me to explore the lake on the water. Röbel is about 12 km away, Waren is just over 6 km away and Rechlin is about 20 km to the south-east.
We decide to sail to Röbel.

Southwesterly wind, a little rain with wind force 4 to 6, the waves are pronounced and short. It’s a bit rough on the small dinghy cruiser, but we make good progress.
We reach Röbel an der Müritz at midday. Röbel is situated in a beautiful bay. Boathouses line the shore – the two churches can be seen from afar. We moor in the city harbor. The season is already over. There is plenty of choice of moorings.
Our “Frieda” is moored here in the city harbor with St. Marien in the background.
“Frieda” is a Lis dinghy cruiser from the Gade boatyard in Aachen and is now 48 years young.
Sail number G 618
